Biographical Information[edit]

Reliever Ricky Strebeck pitched in the Oakland Athletics system from 1990 to 1993. Though he spent part of two seasons (8 games total) at Triple-A, he never ascended to the majors.

He was signed as an undrafted free agent and reached Triple-A his first year. Though he spent most of the season pitching for the Modesto A's and Huntsville Stars, he tossed 2 2/3 scoreless frames for the AAA Tacoma Tigers, going 3-2 with a 3.58 ERA in 29 games overall. The next year, he went 2-1 with a 2.45 mark in 37 appearances between Modesto (32 G, 17 SV, 1.83 ERA) and Tacoma (5 G, 6.43 ERA). Control proved to be an issue, as he had 47 walks to just 38 Ks in 51 1/3 innings. His ERAs slipped to 6.79 in 1992 and 4.88 in 1993 to wrap up his career.

Overall, he went 9-11 with a 4.51 ERA in 130 games 4 starts). In 203 1/3 innings, he allowed 195 hits and 129 walks (1.593 WHIP), while striking out 131 batters.
