Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Peyton Pallette was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 2nd round of the 2022 amateur draft, out of the University of Arkansas. He had missed the 2022 college season after undergoing Tommy John surgery, which meant that he missed Arkansas' participation in the 2022 College World Series. He made his pro debut in 2023, making 22 starts and pitching 72 innings for the Kannapolis Cannon Ballers of the Carolina League and going 0-4, 4.13. The White Sox kept his starts short, as he was building back his arm strength.

He pitched two more seasons in the White Sox system, reaching AA in 2024 and AAA in 2025. He was moved to the bullpen midway through the 2024 season and while his results were not spectacular (his ERAs were 4.37 and 4.06) those two years, the White Sox had terrible major league teams those two seasons and could have used all the pitching help they could have got their hands on. Yet he was left unprotected in the 2025 Rule V Draft and was taken by the Cleveland Guardians, a division rival who was coming off a postseason appearance. It was a scenario out of Bizarro World.

Peyton then duly made the Guardians Opening Day roster in 2026 after a strong showing in spring training, when he did not give up a run in five outings. He made his major league debut in Cleveland's second game, on March 27th against the Seattle Mariners, pitching two hitless and scoreless innings in relief in a 5-1 loss.
