Biographical Information[edit]
Mati Albert has been on the Austrian national team.
In the 2024 Austrian Bundesliga playoffs, he was 0-1 with a 10.80 ERA for the Vienna Metrostars. [1] He was 0 for 6 with a walk in the 2024 European U18 Championship, going 0-1 with a 5.83 ERA. [2] In '25, he was 1-0 with two saves and a 3.69 ERA for the Vienna Wanderers. He tied for the save lead. [3] He pitched four shutout innings in the 2025 U23 European Championship. [4] During the 2025 European Championship, the teenager made the appearances. Debuting against Belgium, he relieved Klaus Scheicher in the 7th with a 9-6 lead. He retired Dennis De Quint and Axel Poesmans, walked Nick Vanthillo and got Yves Poesmans on a grounder. After Austria blew it open with a 7-run 8th, he retired Benjamin Goffaux but Drew Janssen singled and Sam Boermans went deep. He recovered to retire Robin Roevens and Zion De Brauwer before Josh Topper closed it out. Against Croatia, he succeeded Vitus Gneist with a 2-2 tie in the 9th but Philip Smith doubled, Kruno Gojković walked and Andrew Jones smacked the game-winning two-run double. Topper replaced him and Albert took the loss to Anthony Susac. He fared much better in their 6-3 upset win over France, starting and allowing one run in five (3 H, 2 BB, 4 K), once again being relieved by Topper, this time with a 1-1 tie. Only Topper made more appearances for Austria in the 2025 Euros. [5]
