Biographical Information[edit]
In June 2008, Marcus Thames had eight home runs in a span of eight hits.
After the 2012 season, Thames retired and became a minor league coach. He was a hitting coach for the Tampa Yankees in 2013, Trenton Thunder in 2014, and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders in 2015. In 2016, he moved to the major league New York Yankees as assistant hitting coach and in 2018 was named the team's hitting coach. The Yankees let Thames go after the 2021 season and he signed with the Miami Marlins to be their hitting coach in 2022. In 2023, he moved to the Los Angeles Angels.
