Biographical Information[edit]
Marcelo Young was a late addition to the Brazilian national team for the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. The 18-year-old closed out their 12-2 mercy rule rout of China. Relieving Joao Marostica in the 6th, he struck out Yuyang Li and Yi Zhou then got Mingxin Zhang on a grounder. In the 7th, he retired Ning Li and yielded a Jin Yang single but disposed of Tianyuan Hu and Nan Du to wrap it up. Brazil wound up winning a spot in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. [1]
