Biographical Information[edit]
Tianyuan Hu represented the Chinese national team in the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup. He hit .217/.379/.391 and handled 40 chances error-free at second base. He tied Randal Diaz for 7th in assists (18). [1] He played for the Beijing Tigers in the China Baseball League, and he was on China's roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. Hu was their leadoff man against Germany, and he was 1-for-4 with a single against Markus Solbach. He played well against pool champion Colombia, and he collected 2 of China's 3 hits, with a steal in the first inning. Hu had a 1-for-3 record with a RBI single against Joao Marostica of Brazil in the 5th inning, but he also missed a fly ball in the 3rd inning and it caused 3 unearned runs. He tied Pei Liang for the team lead in hits in the qualifiers. [2]
