Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Lou Collier was selected MVP of the 1994 South Atlantic League All-Star Game. He led the National League affiliates to a 9-5 victory with three hits and a home run.

After his retirement as a player, he returned to his hometown of Chicago, IL to work as a coach in Major League Baseball's Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities (RBI) program. "I always wanted to do it," he said. "Even when I played, I always had that in the back of my mind. When I retired, I wanted to come back and start coaching young kids and teach them what I know."
