Biographical Information[edit]
Kristian Robinson has played as high as AAA.
Robinson signed with the Arizona Diamondbacks for $2.5 million as an international free agent. [1] He split 3018 between the AZL Diamondbacks (.272/.341/.414, 35 R in 40 G) and Missula Osprey (.300/.419/.467 in 17 G). Baseball America rated him as the #6 prospect in the Arizona League, between Bo Naylor and Cole Roederer. [2] In 2019, he spent time with the Hillsboro Hops (.319/.407/.558 in 44 G) and Kane County Cougars (.217/.294/.435 in 25 G), with 14 HR in 255 AB and 17 steals in 22 tries. Baseball America named him the #1 prospect in the Arizona League (where he was an All-Star outfielder), [3] as the D-backs' #3 prospect (after Daulton Varsho and Geraldo Perdomo), while MLB.com said he was #1 (#43 in all of baseball) and Baseball Prospectus went even higher, as Arizona's #1 and #16 in all of baseball.
In April 2020, though, Robinson's career went off the rails when he assaulted a police officer in Arizona; he pleaded guilty in 2021. [4] He did not return to minor league baseball in 2023, having missed three years. He appeared for four different Arizona farm clubs in '23, hitting a combined .283/.382/.532 with 14 HR in 233 AB and 23 steals in 30 tries, still showcasing good skills. He was 5th in their organization in swipes.
Spending all of 2024 with the Amarillo Sod Poodles, he slipped to 11 HR in 351 AB and 10 steals, while his batting line dropped to .214/.337/.350. His 63 walks tied Aaron Zavala for 8th in the Texas League with 63 walks and was 5th with 150 K. Among Arizona minor leaguers, he was 6th in walks and 4th in strikeouts. That fall, he batted .319/.405/.449 for the Salt River Rafters. He then had a solid 2025 between Amarillo (.250/.359/.436 in 75 G) and the Reno Aces (.262/.393/.469 in 41 G), with 80 runs, 17 home runs, 34 stolen bases (caught only 8 times) and 77 walks for a solid all-around performance. Among Diamondbacks farmhands, he tied A.J. Vukovich and Andy Weber for 4th in runs, tied for 4th in triples (5), tied for 5th in dingers, led in steals (3 ahead of Yerald Nin) and was 3rd in walks (behind Ryan Waldschmidt and Slade Caldwell).
He then made the Great Britain national team roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, one of six Bahamas natives on the team (alongside Chavez Fernander, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Lucius Fox, Ian Lewis Jr. and BJ Murray Jr.). [5]
