Biographical Information[edit]

Kenny Kelly reached the majors in 2000, then didn't play at that level again until 2005. In between, he played mostly at Triple-A. On July 29, 2003, he was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the New York Mets for Rey Sánchez and cash. His first career hit came on June 12, 2005, while with the Cincinnati Reds. Playing against the Baltimore Orioles, he managed a single off reliever Todd Williams, scoring Ken Griffey Jr. and Adam Dunn. He was taken in the second round of the 1997 amateur draft, the same round as future star Chase Utley.
