Biographical Information[edit]

Keith Stamler pitched in the minor leagues from 2000 to 2005, mostly as a reliever. He spent parts of three seasons at Triple-A, but never ascended to the majors.

He was taken by the Texas Rangers in the 18th round of the 2000 amateur draft. After a ho-hum initial pro campaign, he had an impressive sophomore try in 2001, going 10-5 with a 2.43 ERA in 30 games (12 starts) between the Savannah Sand Gnats and Port Charlotte Rangers. In 2003, he reached Triple-A for the first time, going 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA In 7 games for the Oklahoma RedHawks; he was 4-7, 3.84 in 51 games overall. 2004 was his last solid season, as he went 7-3 with a 2.82 ERA in 52 games (1 start) between Oklahoma and the Frisco RoughRiders.

Overall, Stamler went 35-29 with a 3.69 ERA in 223 games (45 starts). In 558 innings, he allowed 558 hits and 157 walks (1.281 WHIP), while striking out 330 batters. At Triple-A, he was 10-5 with a 4.18 ERA in 77 games (1 start). He later became a baseball instructor.
