Biographical Information

Kazuo Murai was a 4th-round draft pick of the Seibu Lions in the 1982 NPB draft. He spent the next couple years in NPB Farm Leagues, then was sent to the San Jose Bees for seasoning. In 1985, Murai was 2-5 with a 6.18 ERA for San Jose, and he stayed in the minors in the next season. The Lions then traded him with Tomonori Kawamoto to the Chunichi Dragons for Hidetomo Kurioka, but he failed to make it to the big club and he announced his retirement.
