Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman Jon Talley played in the Toronto Blue Jays system from 2007 to 2013 and in independent ball from 2014 to 2015. He peaked at Double-A.

He was taken by the Blue Jays in the 13th round of the 2007 amateur draft (the signing scout was Demerius Pittman), one pick after pitcher Justin Grimm. He was generally a low-average hitter, though in his second campaign, 2008, he hit .303/.354/.493 with 6 home runs and 29 RBI in 43 games between the GCL Blue Jays and Lansing Lugnuts. He was a Gulf Coast League Post-Season All-Star that year. Perhaps his best campaign was 2011, when he hit .241/.310/.460 with 20 home runs and 63 RBI in 102 games for the Dunedin Blue Jays. In 2012, he was a Florida State League Mid-Season All-Star, hitting 9 home runs with 68 RBI for Dunedin. He reached double-digit home runs again in 2014, when he hit 13 dingers for the independent New Jersey Jackals.

Overall, Talley hit .242/.314/.396 with 48 home runs and 253 RBI in 479 games over 7 seasons.
