John Scheschuk played in the minors and for the USA national baseball team.

Scheschuk represented the USA in the 1998 Baseball World Cup. He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 7th round of the 1999 amateur draft, and he hit .252/.362/.347 in 66 games for the Fort Wayne Wizards in his first season. Scheschuk then played 131 games with a .280/.389/.386 batting line in 2000 for the Wizards, and he also went 3-for-7 with the AAA Las Vegas Stars. He hit .283/.381/.436 in 96 games for the Lake Elsinore Storm in 2001, but he struggled with AA Mobile BayBears as his batting line was .181/.244/.265. Scheschuk hit .268/.398/.366 in 51 games for the BayBears in 2002, and his professional career ended.
