Biographical Information[edit]

Jesús Rodríguez‎ pitched over 400 games as a pro and was on the Mexican national team.

He allowed 8 runs in 6 2/3 IP as a rookie for the 2003 Acereros de Monclova, his hometown team. He had a 2-2, 8.58 record for them the next year. [1] He was 6-4 with a 5.40 ERA for the 2005 Acereros. Signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers, he split 2006 between the Ogden Raptors (3-0, 1 Sv, 5.40 in 16 G, 5 BB in 45 IP) and Columbus Catfish (2-1, 6.27 in 12 G). In winter ball, he was 7-1 with a 4.26 ERA for the Yaquis de Obregón. He tied Pablo Ortega for 3rd in the Mexican Pacific League in victories. In 2007, he pitched for the Great Lakes Loons (1-0, 3 Sv, 2.30 in 14 G) and Inland Empire 66ers (1-2, 3 Sv, 3.45 in 26 G). He had another 7-1 winter for the Yaquis, this time with a 2.51 ERA, tying Arturo López for 4th in wins.

Moving up the ladder, he spent 2008 with Inland Empire (2-1, 3.94 in 10 G) and the Jacksonville Suns (5-5, 4.97 in 13 G). He fell to 3-6, 5.38 in the winter, tying for the most losses. He went 6-5 with a save and a 3.47 ERA for the 2009 Chattanooga Lookouts, issuing only 20 walks in 80 1/3 innings. He was 5th among Dodger farmhands in appearances (46, between Víctor Gárate and Francisco Felix). He had a 0-4, 4.82 record that winter, with an uncharacteristic 17 walks in 28 innings. In the summer of 2010, he was with Chattanooga (1-1, 5.01 in 15 G) and the Albuquerque Isotopes (3-1, 5.82 in 26 G). He split 2010-2011 between the Yaquis (0-3, 11.28) and the Águilas de Mexicali (1-2, 8.64 in 4 G). He tied for 7th in the LMP in defeats.

Rodríguez returned to the Mexican League for 2011, going 6-8 with a 6.05 ERA for Monclova. In the winter, he was 2-1 with a save and a 4.50 ERA for Mexicali. He went 0-9 with a save and a 7.38 ERA for the Vaqueros Laguna, tying for 6th in losses. He split the winter between Mexicali (2-1, 5.03 in 4 G) and the Cañeros de Los Mochis (1-2, 6.75 in 8 G); that was his last season of winter ball. In 2013, he was with both Laguna (1-2, 7.71 in 12 G) and the Leones de Yucatán (3-4, 5.35 in 14 G). He went 5-5 with a 3.74 ERA for the 2014 Leones. Pitching for host Mexico in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games, he was roughed up in a loss to Freddy Asiel Álvarez and champion Cuba but got the win over Jorge Guzman and Venezuela in the 5th/6th place game; he finished with a 9.82 ERA.
