Biographical Information[edit]

Since 1989, former Oakland Athletics pitcher Jeff Jones has been a coach in the Detroit Tigers organization. In 2002 he started the year as pitching coach of the Toledo Mud Hens but was promoted to the Tigers bullpen coach in April. In 2006, he was the pitching coach for the Mud Hens again and after the season, he was named the Tigers bullpen coach, his fifth stint on the Tigers staff. In July 2011, when Rick Knapp was fired as pitching coach, Jones moved from bullpen coach to replace Knapp. Jones was replaced by Mike Rojas.
