Biographical Information[edit]

Jeff Bittiger hit a home run on September 22, 1986 as a member of the Philadelphia Phillies against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The opposing pitcher was Bob Kipper. Bittiger started and won the game, pitching 6 and 2/3 innings, giving up 6 hits, 2 earned runs, walking 4 and striking out 5.

He won his only start for the Minnesota Twins on Labor Day, 1987. He later was a scout for the Oakland A's, signing Andrew Bailey, Brad Hertzler, Anthony Recker and Vin Mazzaro.

Bittiger pitched in the minor leagues for 23 seasons, going 193-115 with a 3.49 ERA in 427 games (411 starts).
