Biographical Information[edit]

First baseman/outfielder Jayce Boyd began his professional career in 2012.

He was originally drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 19th round of the 2009 amateur draft, but opted not to sign. He then attended Florida State University, where he hit .326/.394/.507 his first year, .335/.415/.515 his second and .376/.452/.506 his third to earn All-American honors. The New York Mets took him in the 6th round of the 2012 amateur draft.

Afters struggling to a .239/.320/.368 line his first year, he hit .330/.410/.461 with 9 home runs and 83 RBI in 123 games split between the Savannah Sand Gnats (65 G, .361/.441/.494) and St. Lucie Mets (58 G, .292/.372/.421) in 2013. He was a MiLB.com Organization All-Star and a South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star. He followed that with a .293/.382/.414 line with the Binghamton Mets in 2014.
