Biographical Information

Jakey Josepha has played in the minors.

Signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks, he split 2021 between the DSL Diamondbacks 1 (5 for 37, 6 BB) and DSL Diamondbacks 2 (0 for 6). In '22, he improved to .311/.407/.378 between the DSL Diamondbacks Red and DSL Diamondbacks Black, going 12-for-13 in steal attempts. He batted .200/.429/.300 with 6 walks and 6 runs in 8 games for the Netherlands in the 2022 U-18 Baseball World Cup, tying for 9th in walks. With his team down 2-0 with two outs in the final inning, he hit a two-run triple against Canada then scored the winner.

He produced at a .315/.426/.450 clip in 2023, split between the ACL Diamondbacks Red and ACL Diamondbacks Black. The next season, he was with the ACL Diamondbacks (.262/.340/.410, 38 R, 39 RBI in 48 G) and Visalia Rawhide (.114/.215/.129 in 21 G). In the 2024 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he drove in 6 runs in 8 games for the Dutch team, hitting .333/.438/.481. He tied for 4th in hits (9).

Josepha split '25 between the same two teams, hitting .339/.388/.441 in 20 games in the ACL and .235/.342/.359 in 68 games for Visalia. He stole 26 bases in 30 tries for the year, the 6th-most swipes in the D'backs system. He was a late addition to the Netherlands entry in the 2026 World Baseball Classic, replacing Jurickson Profar, who had been suspended for a positive PED test.
