Biographical Information[edit]
Jack Kading played quite well for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1910, hitting .304 and slugging .478 in eight games. In his second game, on September 22nd, Kading stroked two doubles and a single, drove in a run and scored three times as the Pirates edged the Philadelphia Phillies, 6-5.
Kading played for the Eau Claire Commissioners in 1909 and most of 1910 and 1911; a source says that he then was a "printer athlete", indicating that he worked in the printing business and played for a company team. Kading played for the Chicago team of the Federal League in 1913, leading the circuit in Hits, Home Runs and Total Bases. Kading appeared in a few games for Chicago when the Federal League claimed major league status in 1914, but spent most of that season with the St. Thomas Saints of the Canadian League.
