Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Gil Velazquez was a late-season call-up for the Boston Red Sox in 2008, making his Major League debut on September 25 and getting into 3 games, going 1 for 8. However, he was added to the team's postseason roster when Mike Lowell was placed on the disabled list because of a shoulder injury but was not used in any games.

Velazquez became a coach for the AZL Dodgers in 2015. In 2016, he received his first managerial assignment, with the Great Lakes Loons of the Midwest League.
