Biographical Information[edit]
George Weiss was hired to run the New York Yankees farm system in 1932. He became General Manager of the Yankees from 1948 to 1960. During his tenure, the club won ten pennants and seven World Series. After leaving the Yankees, he was the first president and general manager of the New York Mets.
