Biographical Information[edit]

Garrett Mock was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks and scout Trip Couch as a 3rd round pick in the 2004 Amateur Draft. The Diamondbacks traded Mock to the Washington Nationals in August of 2006 as part of the trade in which they acquired Livan Hernandez. Mock made his Major League debut with the Nationals on June 8, 2008, in a losing start against the San Francisco Giants.

He pitched parts of three seasons in the majors, all with the Nationals, from 2008 to 2010. His busiest year was the season, 2009, when he made 15 starts in 28 appearances and was 3-10, 5.62, with a total of 91 1/3 innings. He made only one appearance - a start - in his final season, giving up 2 runs in 3 1/3 innings on April 9th, then was sent down to the minors, never to return. He continued to pitch in the minors until 2013, by which time he was back in the Diamondbacks system, with the AAA Reno Aces, having split the previous season between the AAA affiliates of the Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox.
