Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Dax Fulton was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the 2md round of the 2020 amateur draft out of a high school in Oklahoma, one of a minoroty of high schoolers to be taken that year when the draft was shortened to just five rounds because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

He missed his senior year of high school recovering from Tommy John surgery, so the pandemic did not really affect his prospects, and then underwent the procedure a second time in 2023, missing the entire 2024 season as well. He reached AAA for the first time at the end of the 2025 season, then started 2026 at that level with the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp where he was 1-2, 7.65 after 7 games. While he had been almost exclusively a starting pitcher in the minors, his major league debut on May 6th was as a reliever, as he pitched the final four innings of a 7-4 loss to the Baltimore Orioles, giving up 2 runs on 3 hits in relief of Eury Pérez.
