Biographical Information[edit]

1B/C Darin Everson played in the Montreal Expos' chain in 1994-1995 and the Boston Red Sox chain in 1998. He played for the Madison Black Wolf in 1996, hitting .310 with 13 home runs in 300 at-bats. He then hit .297 with 17 homers in 309 at-bats for Madison in 1997. Each time he was beat out for all-star honors by Terry Lee. Returning to the Northern League in 1999 after his season in the Red Sox system, Everson hit .306 with 12 homers in 333 at-bats to earn the all-star nod at first base.

From 2000-2005, Everson was a very busy man. His long-term goal was to coach in the major leagues, so he worked a variety of baseball jobs to gain experience and to get noticed. Everson was an assistant coach at Madison Area Technical College, head coach at Oregon (WI) High School and an associate scout for the Baltimore Orioles [1]. He also spent four summers (two as manager) with the Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League. In 2003, he spent two months as an assistant coach with the Peninsula Oilers of the Alaska Summer League. For his "regular" job, Everson was a physical education teacher at Oregon High School.

The hard work paid off when the Florida Marlins hired him to coach Jupiter Hammerheads hitters in 2006. He spent the next three years managing in the Marlins minor league system before a two year foray into the independent leagues as manager of the Washington Wild Things.

Everson joined the Colorado Rockies organization in 2013 as a hitting coach for the Tulsa Drillers. He held this position for two years. After the 2014 season, he was a hitting coach for the Salt River Rafters in the Arizona Fall League. Everson returned to managing in 2015-2016 before working as a hitting coach for the Albuquerque Isotopes in 2017. In 2018, he was named the Rockies minor league hitting and bunting coordinator. From 2020-2022, he focused just on hitting coordinator responsibilities.

Everson moved to the New York Mets' organization as hitting coach of the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in 2023-2024. He moved again to the Kansas City Royals' chain as assistant hitting coach of the Omaha Storm Chasers in 2025. Everson moved yet again, to the Washington Nationals' chain as hitting coach of the Harrisburg Senators in 2026.
