Biographical Information

Damian Perkins has been on the South African national team.

He had a 10.80 ERA in the 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup. In the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he made one appearance. He relieved Dean Jacobs in the 5th with two outs, no one on and a 4-1 deficit against Taiwan. He allowed a Po-Hsuan Wang single then got Shao-Hung Chiang on a grounder. In the 6th, Cheng-Jui Sung led off with an inside-the-park homer, Chia-Wei Lin singled and Tzu-Wei Lin got plunked. Chieh-Hsien Chen bunted them over and Yu Chang was intentionally walked. Perkins got Nien-Ting Wu to hit into an inning-ending double play. Josh Tribe replaced him. Of South Africa's six hurlers that day, only Daniel Mendelsohn had a lower ERA.
