Biographical Information

Daiki Yamamoto played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years

Yamamoto was drafted by the Chiba Lotte Marines in the 3rd round of the 2017 NPB draft; the scout was Atsushi Kobayashi. He only pitched one game combined for the big club in his first two seasons, and he had a 10.50 ERA in 4 appearances for the Criollos de Caguas after the 2019 season. Yamamoto recorded a 2.63 ERA in 12 relief outings in 2020, and he stayed in the minors for the entire 2021 season. He notched 6 saves with a 2.87 ERA in 2022 in the minors, and he tied Hideto Doi for 6th in the minor Eastern League in saves. The Marines traded him to the Yakult Swallows for Koshiro Sakamoto in the middle of the season, and he pitched 5 games with a 7.94 ERA for the top team. Yamamoto improved to a 2.55 ERA in 42 games in 2023, and he extended his solid performance as he notched 12 holds with a 1.42 EAR in 44 relief outings in 2024. However, his ERA rose to 5.17 in 17 games in 2025, and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Yamamoto was 5-1 with a 3.00 ERA and 22 holds, struck out 75 and pitched 105 innings in 6 seasons in NPB.
