Biographical Information[edit]

Koshiro Sakamoto has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Sakamoto was drafted by the Yakult Swallows in the 5th round of the 2018 NPB draft; the scout was Kenta Abe.[1] He had a 5.82 ERA in 19 relief outings in 2019, then he mainly stayed in the NPB Farm Leagues so he only got one appearance for the big club in 2020. Sakamoto notched 7 holds with a 4.05 ERA in 36 games in 2021, and he had a 9.28 ERA in 7 games in 2022 before the Swallows traded him to the Chiba Lotte Marines for Daiki Yamamoto. Sakamoto pitched 7 games with a 4.15 ERA in the rest of the season, and he broke out in 2022. He collected 16 holds with a 3.21 ERA in 51 appearances, but he slumped to a 5.37 EAR in 37 relief outings in 2024. Sakamoto struggled again in 2025, and he recorded a 6.35 ERA in 8 games.
