Biographical Information[edit]
Cooper Ingle made the All-Tournament Team as an outfielder while playing for Clemson University at the 2023 Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament. Shortly after that, he was taken by the Cleveland Guardians in the 4th round of the 2023 amateur draft.
The Guardians turned him into a full-time catcher in the minors, but his bat was still his strongest suit. In 2024, he hit .305/.419/.478 in 95 games between the High-A Lake County Captains and AA Akron Rubber Ducks, with 11 homers and 67 RBIs. He was named the MVP of the Midwest League that year as well as a post-season All-Star and a High-A All-Star. He spent most of 2025 at Akron before a late-season promotion to the AAA Columbus Clippers of the International League. In 120 games, his combined slash line was .260/.389/.419 with 10 homers and 55 RBIs. He was named a post-season All-Star in the Eastern League and a AA All-Star.
In 2026, the Guardians had him play in the outfield and at DH in addition to catching for Columbus, in anticipation of an eventual call-up to the majors. That came after he hit .284 with 12 homers and 41 RBIs in 51 games. He made his debut on June 26th, starting at DH against the Seattle Mariners. He went 0 for 2 with a walk in a 3-1 loss.
