Known as Colorado A&M College or Colorado State College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts until 1957.

Colorado State sponsored baseball from at least 1947 to 1992. The school was a member of the Mountain States Conference until 1962 and the Western Athletic Conference from 1967 through the end of the school's participation in baseball. CSU currently competes in the Mountain West Conference in other sports.

The school was established as the Agricultural College of Colorado in 1879, and was known as Colorado College of Agricultural and Mechanic Arts from 1935 to 1944 and Colorado Agricultural and Mechanical College from 1944 until taking its current name in 1957.
