Biographical Information

After a stellar carer at the University of South Florida, the Chicago White Sox drafted Chris Heintz in the 19th round of the 1996 Amateur Draft. Heintz gradually worked his way up through the minor leagues and made his major league debut in 2005 with the Minnesota Twins. Heintz concluded his playing career in 2007.

Heintz turned to coaching when the Twins hired him on July 8, 2009 to coach Beloit Snappers hitters for the remainder of the season. He replaced Rich Miller who was promoted to the AAA Rochester Red Wings. Heintz started the 2010 season as manager of the GCL Twins, but only led the team for 7 games. He left the Twins for an assistant coaching position at his alma mater where he remained through the 2014 season. According to his LinkedIn profile, Heintz spent the next three years as a Commissioners Assistant for Hillsborough County.[1]

Heintz returned to baseball when the Philadelphia Phillies hired him in 2018 as a GCL Phillies West hitting coach. He was initially assigned to return to the GCL squad in 2019 before being reassigned to the Clearwater Threshers for the season. Heintz was scheduled to coach the Threshers again in 2020 before the season was cancelled due to COVID-19. Heintz spent the next two seasons as a Minor League Assistant Hitting Coordinator for the Phillies. Heintz returned to the field as hitting coach of Clearwater in 2023-2026.
