Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Chase Davis was the 21st overall selection in the 2023 amateur draft, taken in the first round by the St. Louis Cardinals out of the University of Arizona. He was coming off a junior season in which he had hit .362 in 57 games, with 71 runs, 21 homers and 74 RBIs. His 39 home runs in three seasons at Arizona were the third most in school history. He was considered one of the top high school players in the country when he graduated from Franklin High School in Elk Grove, CA in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, but the amateur draft was shortened to just five rounds that year and he went undrafted. While the Arizona Wildcats reached the 2021 College World Series, he was only a freshman at the time and played sparingly that year.

He started his professional career in 2023 with the Palm Beach Cardinals of the Florida State League where he hit .212 in 34 games. In 2024, he appeared in 112 games, split between three different levels: Low-A, High-A and AA. He started off with 74 games at Palm Beach, where he hit .232, then batted .301 in 30 games for the Peoria Chiefs of the Midwest League, before finishing up with 8 games for the Springfield Cardinals of the Texas League. HIs combined slash line was .252/.349/.417 with 12 homers and 70 RBIs. He was named the Player of the 'Month in the FSL in June, with his first promotion taking place on July 30th. He homered in his second at-bat in the Texas League. He then spent the entire 2025 season with Springfield, batting .242 with 10 homers and 48 RBIs.

He is fully bilingual as his major in college was Spanish. Many observers have noted that his swing bears an uncanny resemblance to that of former All-Star OF Carlos González, who was his favorite player growing up.
