Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Chad Dallas was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 4th round of the 2021 amateur draft from the University of Tennessee. He played in the 2021 College World Series with the Volunteers after going 11-2, 4.19 in 17 starts during the season.
He started his professional career in 2022 with the Vancouver Canadians, where he went 1-7, 4.60 in 21 starts. In 2023, he split the season between Vancouver and the AA New Hampshire Fisher Cats, finishing at 9-3, 3.65 in 23 games. In 2024, he made 14 starts for the AAA Buffalo Bisons, but did not pitch after July 21st, as he was injured and had to undergo Tommy John surgery. He was 2-4, 6.34 at the time, and he then missed all of 2025 as he was recovering from the procedure.
In 2026, he was 0-3, 4.50 in his first 10 games for Buffalo, then was called up to Toronto on June 4th, replacing Hayden Juenger on the roster. He made his debut that same day, coming in in relief of opener Mason Fluharty in the 2nd inning of a bullpen game against the Atlanta Braves. It was an excellent first outing as he lasted 3 2/3 innings and gave up just 1 run, in the 3rd innings, after getting out of the jam he inherited from Fluharty in the 2nd. By the time he gave up the run, the Blue Jays had taken a 3-0 lead, and they never relinquished it until the game ended with a 7-2 score, so he was credited as the winning pitcher over Chris Sale.
Both his father Tony, who passed away from Lou Gehrig's Disease in 2025, and brother Jack played college baseball, but neither played professionally.
