A cousin of Sixto Lezcano, Carlos was, like Sixto, born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. Carlos played in the minors from 1977 to 1984, hitting .326 for the Midland Cubs in 1979. He showed moderate power with a high of 19 home runs for the Wichita Aeros in 1980.
The Cubs' opening day center fielder in 1980, Lezcano played in 42 games at the major league level that season, hitting .205 in 88 at-bats. He also had some appearances in 1981.
Lezcano has now managed for three different organizations in the Arizona League in a minor league managing career that lasted 20 years.
