Bill Kinneberg has been a college coach for 30 years.
Kinneberg started his career as an assistant coach at the University of Texas at El Paso from 1980-1983. In 1984, he was pitching coach for the Italian national team in the Olympics. In 1985, he returned to El Paso as head coach and set a school record for wins. From 1986-1992, he was head coach at the University of Wyoming, going 37-18 and being named Western Athletic Conference Coach of the Year. They set a school record for wins.
From 1992-1994, Kinneberg was assistant coach at Arizona State University as ASU went to the 1993 College World Series and 1994 College World Series. In 1996, he was head coach at the University of Utah, setting a school record for wins at 30-22.
In 2005, Bill returned to Utah as head coach, replacing Tim Esmay who went on to Arizona State; Esmay had replaced Kinneberg back in 1997. Through 2009, his record as a head coach in 372-328.
Kinneberg was again pitching coach for a national team when he was with Team USA for the 2007 Pan American Games, helping them win a Silver Medal. He worked with Brian Matusz that summer, a year before Matusz was the 4th pick in the 2008 amateur draft.
Bill will manage Team USA in 2010.
