The Atlantic East Conference began play in the 2018-2019 school year. It was founded by 5 schools from the Colonial States Athletic Conference (Cabrini, Gwynedd Mercy, Immaculata, Marywood, and Neumann) and 2 schools from the Capital Athletic Conference (Marymoount and Wesley).
