Professional Baseball

The Nippon Baseball Association is founded on August 18. The Association was a predessesor of the first professional league which would be founded six months later.

High School Baseball

The 21th National High School Baseball Championship featured a total of 666 schools competing for 22 spots in the finals at Koshien. In the championship game Matsuyama Commercial High School (Ehime) defeated Ikuei High School (Hyogo) by a score of 5 - 1.

The 12th National High School Baseball Invitational Tournament featured 20 schools competing in the tournament at Koshien. In the championship game Gifu Commercial & Business High School (Gifu) defeated Koryo High School (Hiroshima) by a score of 5 - 4.
