July 18, 1979: Signed by the Milwaukee Brewers as an amateur free agent.

September 3, 1982: Sent by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Houston Astros to complete an earlier deal made on August 30, 1982. The Milwaukee Brewers sent players to be named later and cash to the Houston Astros for Don Sutton.
