June 3, 1997: Drafted by the Chicago Cubs in the 3rd round of the 1997 amateur draft. Player signed June 18, 1997.

November 3, 1998: Sent by the Chicago Cubs to the Minnesota Twins to complete an earlier deal made on August 25, 1998. The Chicago Cubs sent a player to be named later and cash to the Minnesota Twins for Mike Morgan.
