November 30, 1964: Drafted by the Kansas City Athletics from the Boston Red Sox in the 1964 first-year draft.

May 12, 1966: Traded by the Kansas City Athletics with Arlie Burge (minors) and Stan Bledsoe (minors) to the Boston Red Sox for Bob Duliba and Fred Holmes (minors).

December 13, 1969: Traded by the Boston Red Sox with Billy Farmer (minors) to the Chicago White Sox for Gary Peters and Don Pavletich. Billy Farmer (minors) refused to report to his new team. The Boston Red Sox sent Jerry Janeski (March 9, 1970) to the Chicago White Sox to complete the trade.
