2007 European Cupwinners Cup

The 2007 European Cupwinners Cup, played in Hoofddorp, Netherlands, would be the last time this competition was played. The CEB made changes to the cup competitions and cancelled both the Cupwinners Cup and the CEB Cup. Next year the European Cup would be expanded to 16 teams.

It was fitting that the last ever Cupwinners Cup was won by the team who won the inaugural cup 17 years ago, DOOR Neptunus. Neptunus beat Spanish side CB Sant Boi in the final to win their record fifth Cupwinners Cup title. Leon Boyd went 8 innings, teaming with Jan Naterop on a four-hitter in the finale. Spain's Yaeko Vazquez gave up just three hits but walked 8; a double by SS Raily Legito scored CF Johnny Balentina and 2B Benjamin Dille with the only runs in the third.
