Biographical Information[edit]

The Cincinnati Reds drafted Zach Vincej in the 37th round of the 2012 Amateur Draft from Pepperdine University. He worked his way through the Reds' minor league system and won a Rawlings Minor League Gold Glove Award for his play at shortstop with the Double-A Pensacola Blue Wahoos in 2016. Vince made his major league debut in 2017. He played in nine major league games with the Reds and in a tenth game with the Seattle Mariners in 2018. Vincej completed his playing career in 2019 in the Baltimore Orioles chain.

Vincej became a bench coach with the Tacoma Rainiers in 2022. He then became a manager with the Modesto Nuts in 2023. He led Modesto to back-to-back California League Championships during his two years as skipper. Vincej was named Baseball America’s 2024 Minor League Manager of the Year. The Mariners promoted him to manager of the Everett AquaSox in 2025, where he won his 3rd straight league championship.
