Zach Levenson has played in the minors.
He hit .291 and slugged .581 as a freshman at Seminole State College, leading his team in HR (12 in 44 G) and slugging; he was named second-team All-Mid-Florida Conference. [1] He batted .300/.420/.531 as a sophomore after transferring to the University of Miami then stayed steady at .292/.396/.554 as a junior with 14 homers and 45 RBI in 63 games. The St. Louis Cardinals took him in the 5th round of the 2023 amateur draft and he signed for a $381,300 bonus.
Making his pro debut, he hit .268/.331/.480 that summer for the Palm Beach Cardinals with 24 runs in 34 contests while playing error-free ball in the outfield. Despite only playing a third of the season, he was 3 home runs shy of the team lead with 6. With the 2024 Peoria Chiefs, he slumped to .215/.317/.367. He split '25 between Peoria (.236/.373/.377, 56 BB in 82 G) and the Springfield Cardinals (.275/.350/.484 in 26 G). He was 5th in the Cards chin with 66 walks and tied for 10th with 57 RBI.
Levenson then made the Israeli national team roster for the 2026 World Baseball Classic, again laden with Jewish Americans (or their descendants or spouses) as their lone actual Israeli was Assaf Lowengart. [2]
