Biographical Information

Yutaka Tamaki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 10 years.

Tamaki was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 9th round of the 2004 NPB draft, and he only pitched 3 games combined in his first three seasons for the big club. He was 4-2 with a 2.22 ERA for the Waikiki Beach Boys in 2007, then he went 6-2 with a 2.19 ERA in 2008 in the NPB Farm Leagues. Tamaki also pitched 4 shutout innings for the top team, then he missed the entire 2009 season due to right elbow injury. He then stayed in the minors in the next two seasons, and he notched 17 saves with a 1.50 ERA in 2013. Tamaki led the Western League in saves (one ahead of Daichi Hoshino), and he had a 2.19 ERA in 7 relief outings for the big club. His ERA was 3.86 in 5 appearances in 2014, and he only pitched 2 2/3 innings for the big club in 2015 and he announced his retirement.
