Biographical Information[edit]
Yuta Ishii has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Ishii won 4 Best Nine awards and a MVP in the Hiroshima Big-Six6 Universities Baseball League, and he played for Nippon Life Insurance of the Industrial League.[1] The Chunichi Dragons selected him in the 4th round of the 2024 NPB draft, and he hit .221/.272/.298 in 85 games in his rookie year. Ishii collected 5 hits in a game on June 11 against the Rakuten Golden Eagles, and he was the first catcher in NPB history to accomplish that. He won 31 votes in the CL Rookie of the Year voting, and he was 3rd behind Kota Shoji and Takato Ihara.
