Biographical Information

Yukiyasu Nakamura was drafted by the Nankai Hawks in the first round of the second 1966 NPB draft after they lost the lottery for the rights to Makoto Tsuchida. He hit .167/.195/.218 in 62 games in 1967 (totaling only 83 plate appearances, backing up Don Blasingame at 2B and Kenji Koike at SS), then he went 3-for-19 in 1968. However, Nakamura only played 5 games in 1969, and the Hawks released him in 1970. The Hanshin Tigers picked him up, and he hit .250/.265/.250 in 60 games in 1971. Nakamura played 15 games in 1972, thenhe announced his retirement.
