Biographical Information[edit]

Yuki Sakaeda has played in Nippon Pro Baseball.

Sakaeda was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the 4th round of the 2020 NPB draft; the scout was Terumitsu Kumano.[1] He hit .257/.352/.385 in 47 games in the NPB Farm Leagues in 2021, and he had a .243/.317/.326 batting line there in 2022. Sakaeda then hit .240/.324/.333 in the minors in 2023, and he also went 1-for-3 with the top team; his hit was a single off Scott McGough in his first NPB at-bat. His batting line was .274/.347/.380 in 2024, and he played one game as defensive replacement for the big club. Sakaeda stayed with the big club in most of the 2025 season, but he only played 8 games as Hanshin's starting catcher Seishiro Sakamoto got most of the plate appearances.
