Yuki Hayashi has pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball.
Hayashi represented Japan in the 2019 U-18 Baseball World Cup, going 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA; he lost to South Korea's Yun-dong Heo. [1] The Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles selected him in the 6th round of the 2022 NPB draft; the scout was Jun Yamada.[2] He had a 2.14 ERA in 24 relief outings in 2023 in the NPB Farm Leagues, but he underwent left elbow surgery and missed the entire 2024 season. He debuted against the Orix Buffaloes on September 28, 2025, and he got his first strikeout against Ryoto Kita.
Hayashi's repertoire included a fastball (peak 93.8 mph), slider, curveball and changeup.
