Biographical Information[edit]
Yoshio Ueda signed with the Nankai Hawks in 1938, and he was 7-for-34 in his first season. He hit .241/.317/.296 in 20 games in 1939, and he played 72 games with a .159/.202/.205 batting line in 1940 then he announced his retirement. His brother Fujio Ueda also played in NPB. Ueda later joined the United States Marine Corps, and he was the only NPB player who had experienced the Korean War.
