Biographical Information

Yoshimatsu Yokochi played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 7 years.

Yokochi signed with the Chunichi Dragons in 1958, and he went 0-for-6 in his first season. He played 64 games with a .200/.227/.287 batting line in 1959 as the backup second baseman behind Noboru Inoue, and he struggled again in 1960 as his batting line was .179/.210/.256 in 84 games. The Dragons then traded him with Tsutomu Ina to the Hanshin Tigers for Shintoku Hoshiyama and Shigetaka Nishio. Yokochi hit .226/.250/.290 in 1961, and he went 2-for-10 in 1962. He was 0-for-8 in the 1962 Nippon Series, and the Tigers lost to the Toei Flyers in 7 games. Yokochi was 3-for-29 in 1963, but he only got 6 at-bats in 1964 and he announced his retirement.

Overall, Yokochi hit .188/.224/.265 with 78 hits and 3 homers in 7 seasons in NPB.
