Yoshihiko Taki played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 8 years.
Taki signed with the Mainichi Orions in 1952, but he only pitched four games combined in his first two seasons. He was selected by the Takahashi Unions when they were founded in 1954, and he soon became their ace. Taki went 16-19 with a 2.20 ERA that season, and he was 6th in ERA in the Pacific League (between Fumio Takechi and Yoshinobu Uemura), 10th in wins (tied with Isao Wada and Junzo Sekine), 4th in losses (between Giichi Hayashi and Koichi Harada), 10th in complete games (tied with Sadao Nishimura) and 6th in strikeouts (between Hisafumi Kawamura and Wada).
The Nagoya native was 9-14 with a 3.66 ERA in 1955, and he tied Takao Kajimoto and Yoshiharu Ogawa for 9th in losses. Taki had a 6-20 record with a 3.90 ERA in 1956, and he ranked 2nd in losses (1 behind Yasuo Yonekawa). He went 13-9 with a 3.57 ERA in 1957, and he tied Katsumi Nakanishi and Yukio Shimabara for 10th in wins. Taki then signed with the Daimai Orions in 1958, and his ERA was 5.76 in 13 games. He only pitched 8 games in 1959, and he announced his retirement.
Overall, Taki was 44-63 with a 3.20 ERA, struck out 400 and pitched 897 1/3 innings in 8 seasons in NPB.
